Lahore suffered light and intermittent rains during the last night, bringing cooler temperatures and a welcome respite in the city during the sacred month of Ramadan, Express News reported.
According to the meteorological department, the portfolio meteorological system affecting Lahore and certain parts of Punjab should continue for a while.
Light rains should persist throughout the day today, although the intensity should relax by the evening. As the system progresses, the weather conditions should start to improve, with a clear sky probably by tomorrow.
The rain brought a fresher, much appreciated by the city residents, although it caused certain disturbances.
The administration has mobilized teams to ensure that the roads and sub-bassiers remain clear, while issuing precautionary measures for travelers.
On the other hand, Thandiyani, Nathiagali, Donga Gali, Ayubie and other hilly regions of Abbottabad have received the heaviest snowfall of the season, with up to three feet in certain regions.
Temperatures have plunged below the frost, blocking most of the Liaison Roads in Galiyat, including the main Abbottabad to Murrier Route.
The Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) has deployed four snow removal machines to clean the roads, with the support of the 1122 rescue and the traffic police.
Bara Gali’s road to Nathia Gali was also authorized. The authorities have set up information points in Harno and Barian to help tourists.
Meanwhile, the Kaghan and Shogran valley are covered up to a snow foot, and Naran received up to three feet. Snowfall and continuous rain have reconstructed dried natural springs and rivers.
