Islamabad:
On Sunday, China put its weight behind Pakistan’s efforts to safeguard its territorial integrity and sovereignty following brewing tensions with India after the attack on Pahalgam while Beijing urged the two parties to show the restraint.
The demonstration of support came from the Chinese Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, who spoke with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar to discuss the evolving situation resulting from the attack in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk), he occupied a Jammu and Iiojk).

A separate declaration published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad said that DAR had informed Wang of the current regional situation. He categorically rejected the unilateral and illegal actions of India, as well as his baseless propaganda against Pakistan.
Expressing a deep appreciation for the coherent and unshakable support of China, Dar reaffirmed the strong commitment of Pakistan to “Pakistani-Chinese-iron friendship and the shared vision of a strategic cooperative partnership all times”.
He underlined the determination of Pakistan to further deepen bilateral cooperation in all spheres. The two parties have reiterated their firm determination to maintain regional peace and stability, promote mutual respect and understanding, and jointly oppose unilateralism and hegemonic policies.
They agreed to maintain close communication and coordination at all levels to advance their common peace, security and sustainable development objectives in the region and beyond.
Meanwhile, DAR also spoke to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy, and informed him of the current regional situation, sharing the false accusations of India, unilateral propaganda and unilateral measures, including the illegal decision to put the treatment of the water from the Indus (IWT) in suspense – a clear violation of the international obligations of India.
He reiterated the unshakable determination of Pakistan to defend his national interests, while continuing to promote peace and stability in the region.
Foreign Minister David Lammy stressed the importance of defusing the situation through dialogue and peaceful resolution of problems. Appreciating these efforts, Dar has made the provision of Pakistan to participate in any independent and transparent investigation to determine the facts. The two leaders agreed to maintain active contact concerning the evolution of the situation.
