- Lenovo is currently facing problems carrying out problems carrying out problems, and has canceled some
- It comes at the same time that GPD wins first 5 impressions landing
- The GPD Win 5 has prices somewhat similar to the Legion Go 2, but offers much better performance
With the Lenovo Legion Go 2 presented at IFA 2025 in Berlin, Germany, the fans wanted to grasp the new laptop, but unfortunately, the pre -orders were not planned. Meanwhile, there is a new device in town which surpasses the rest of the Legion Go and could easily exceed the ranking of the best portable play PCs.
As our friends from Tom’s Hardware reported, Lenovo canceled a pre-order Go 2 Legion due to high demand and because it cannot deliver units to consumers in “timely”.
Unfortunately for Lenovo, this happens while we get our first overview of the new and more powerful GPD Win 5 Handheld.
It is quite obvious that the two are very different pocket computers, but they are similar in terms of starting price-that is to say that they are both dear. The GPD Win 5 Ryzen AI Max 385 model starts at $ 1,599 / approximately £ 1,470 / $ 2,420 at, while the Lenovo Legion Go 2 starts at $ 1,099 / £ 899 £ / $ 1 809
While the AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 in the GPD Win 5 probably works much closer to the Dog Top Ryzen AI Max 395+, and much better than the Ryzen Z2 model in the Base Legion Go 2 model, the Lenovo device is even cheaper.
Where the GPD wins 5 Détethrones, the Legion Go 2 is with the Ryzen AI Max 395+ 2TB model, which is accompanied by $ 1850 / approximately £ 1,720 / $ 2,800 at, compared to the Lenovo Go 2 Z2 Extreme 2 TO model which is $ 1,479 / approximately £ 1.279 / at $ 2.240 win 5.
To watch
In other words, as presented in the YouTube video above by the phawx, the GPD Win 5 is the most powerful portable game PC currently on the market. It literally offers laptops level performance performance near an NVIDIA RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 (laptop GPU).
It would not be an exaggeration to say that if you are ready to spend big on the Lenovo Legion Go 2, it might not save a little more for a device that (depending on what we see with the first impressions) blows all other labor computers out of the water in terms of performance.
This does not mean that the GPD Win 5 is not a niche device, because it is certainly given at its price. But the difference is that these noble prices are justified given the power of which this laptop is capable – execute demanding titles like Turned at more than 80 IPS (at a 1080p resolution without generation of frame).
Analysis: The GPD Win 5 is the only portable game PC that justifies its premium price
Without sugar, the Lenovo Legion Go 2 has no company that costs as much as it does – and certainly does not approach the price of the GPD Win 5, not even with its OLED screen.
As I have already said, the Ryzen Z2 Extreme (which feeds the Costaud Legion Go 2) barely provides a large upgrade of its predecessor, so the only main selling arguments of the suite are its OLED screen and its battery life – but that is not enough.
The GPD Win 5 is the ultimate portable gaming experience outside laptops, with a detachable 80Whr battery and a light design. I prefer to have an 8 -inch screen instead of the 7 -inch GPD screen, but when you get high level performance, it becomes less a problem.
Make no mistake here – I wouldn’t buy a portable device that costs as much as a game laptop or a desktop PC. But for those who want the best of the best for portable games, the GPD Win 5 seems to be the answer, and the only device I have seen so far that justifies its high price.
