Former ESPN broadcaster Keith Olbermann criticized the White House for duking former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as Team USA beat Canada for Olympic gold in men’s hockey.

The official White House X account posted a photo of an eagle attacking a goose after the Americans beat the Canadians, 2-1, in overtime for their first gold medal in men’s hockey since the “Miracle on Ice” team did it in 1980.

This message follows Trudeau’s remarks about the Canadian team when they beat the United States in last year’s 4-nation showdown. Trudeau wrote at the time: “You can’t take our country – and you can’t take our game.” But Olbermann disputed that interaction.

“The Trash Trump White House still acts like it’s never been there before,” the staunch Trump critic wrote on X.

President Donald Trump congratulated the American team on their victory.

Instead of winning the game, Jack Hughes ripped out the hearts of Team Canada fans with his overtime goal. He managed to slip the puck past Canadian goaltender Jordan Binnington for the victory.

Binnington remained on his lead for most of the match. He allowed a goal to Matt Boldy in the first period, but settled down and thwarted most of Team USA’s attack until the very end.
