Reason why Shia LaBeouf moved from Los Angeles to New Orleans

Shia LaBeouf’s move from Los Angeles to New Orleans was motivated by a desire for change and family connections after his longtime relationship with Mia Goth ended, according to a source.

The source says Shia LaBeouf, 39, moved to Louisiana after the couple officially split last year, seeing the city as an opportunity to start over after a difficult time.

“He was just unhappy in Los Angeles and considered New Orleans a reset,” says the source.

They add that the decision was also rooted in family ties, noting: “He is very close to his father and wanted to spend more time with his father.”

LaBeouf and Goth, 32, have been in an on-and-off relationship dating back to 2012. They welcomed a daughter, Isabel, in 2022.

The couple previously held a ceremony in Las Vegas in 2016 which was later confirmed to be not legally binding, announced a divorce in 2018 and were later seen wearing wedding rings again in 2020.

The actor’s relationship with his father, Jeffrey LaBeouf, has been complex and publicly discussed over the years.

Both struggled with alcoholism and underwent several rehabs.

During one of these stays, LaBeouf wrote the semi-autobiographical film Honey, boyin which he portrays a version of his father as abusive.

He later retracted this representation, admitting that it was inaccurate.

News of LaBeouf’s move comes as he faces legal issues in New Orleans.

He was charged with two counts of simple battery following an alleged altercation Feb. 17 during Mardi Gras celebrations in the city’s French Quarter.

A New Orleans Police Department report claims the actor punched two men after being thrown from a bar, left the scene, then returned and assaulted the same victim again as well as a second person.

For LaBeouf, the move to New Orleans appears to represent a personal attempt to leave Hollywood, reconnect with his family and find stability after years marked by public attention, relationship upheaval and lingering personal challenges.
