The palace said Prince William had attended the funeral on behalf of King Charles.
He also shared the message of the king and the queen whom they had issued the death of Pope Francis.
Instagram stories published by the royal family did not mention Prince William’s brief conversation with US President Donald Trump.
The Prince of Wales was not accompanied by his wife Kate Middleton during his visit to Rome.
William’s visit to Rome intervened a few days after returning to royal homework after a spring vacation.
