- Windows 11 could get a feature to better inform you of the speed at which your PC is
- It is always hidden in tests, but a new FAQ to help the least informed in technology has just been discovered
- As is still in the first stages – and not yet an official function – we must temper our excitation a little
Microsoft develops Windows 11 feature which provides easy -to -understand information on your PC specifications and how powerful equipment inside the device is.
Neowin has noticed that a regular contributor to the Windows rumors on X, Phantomoforesh, discovered new work on this capacity which remains hidden under the cover of Windows 11.
New list of questions frequently asked in settings> System> on, hidden in builds 26120.3576 and 22635,5090. To a few questions related to the Windows version and the specifications of the device. (Vivetool / Activate / Id: 5530588) Pic.twitter.com/akap8xr3PrMarch 17, 2025
Phantomofearth found the new FAQ section in Overview of Builds 26120.3576 and 22635,5090, and they allowed the features using a Windows configuration utility (Vivetool).
You may remember that this feature was discovered for the first time in the background of Windows 11 in early 2025, when the same leak broadcast images of certain “ cards ” in the parameter application, which are compact information panels that display the specifications of the PC, so they are easy to see at a glance.
These panels (in System> AboutIn the settings) View basic specifications such as CPU, graphics card and the amount of memory and storage. In addition to that, as we noted at the time, Windows 10 users already had this live functionality, in the tests, and he came with a FAQ section that was closed.
Now that the FAQ has arrived in Windows 11, as mentioned, and it provides a range of questions and answers on the elements of the host PC specifications.
The Bit NIFTY is that the FAQ is suitable according to the PC which executes Windows 11. Thus, for example, if you do not have a discreet GPU, and that you simply use the integrated graphics provided by your processor, Microsoft will provide information on exactly what it means for your execution prospects of certain software or games.
Or if you have a small amount of system RAM, you will receive details on how this leaner allowance could affect the execution of applications on your PC.
Analysis: form well (although a very early stage)
It is good to see this FAQ section arriving under Windows 11, although it had to do so, since it was already present in Windows 10 (test). (However, I’m not sure why Microsoft is developing this for Windows 10, since the operating system drops its coil for too long, something Microsoft regularly reminds us of creative, say, say).
We must always remember that at least for Windows 11, it is a hidden functionality and not yet activated in the tests, there is therefore no guarantee that it will never happen in the finished version of the operating system (the same goes for Windows 10, by the way).
I think it is very likely that it will be pushed to Windows 11, however, since it will be a useful feature for calculating novices that are not sure of the capacities of their PC. The tailor -made nature of the new FAQ is particularly useful, so the information provided is guaranteed to be relevant to the user.
However, the answers to the questions asked are a little generic, but I can see them being expanded by the AI in the future. This could be a good use of COPILOT so that the assistant is more useful for the least informed in technology.
As I have discussed in the past, this new approach seems much higher than the Windows experience index, whose computer veterans can remember the day. The WEI, as it was called, was introduced with Windows Vista, and evaluated the performance of your PC in a bunch of categories – but it was convoluted and confusing, rather than useful.
It seems that Microsoft will do much better with this new version of the concept, but the proof, like never, will be in the tasting of the pudding – and this feature is always very in the mix of mixing ingredients at the moment.
