- Wix announces the WIXEL autonomous online design platform
- Acts as an alternative to Canva and Adobe Express
- Includes AI tools alongside traditional design features
Top SiteD Builder Wix has announced the release of Wixel, a visual design suite supplied with AI which is indeed an alternative to Canva and Adobe Express.
According to the company, Wixel aims to “democratize visual design” – in other words, designers and non -conceptors will now have the tools to create content and professional quality assets.
Interestingly, Wixel is an autonomous product, so even those that do not use the website builder will be able to register for the design tool. And, like Canva and Express, it is free to use with an optional upgrade for premium features.
What is Wixel and what can users expect?
Regarding visual design suites, it is a fairly congested market at the moment, an area notably dominated by Canva.
It may not be the first to market, but it is the one that captured the imagination of marketing teams and companies, even leaving non-conceptors shooting professional quality images and videos. Is it so popular that even Adobe has increased the bet and has made improvements essential to its express platform.
Given the popularity of these consequences, I am not completely surprised to see Wix enter the action. But what can we expect from Wixel users?
Wix offered an overview on this subject. Armed with a single product photo downloaded on the platform, users can now delete or add backgrounds, crop, convert and modify the images, include text and personalize the layout in a model.
At the same time, Wixel is able to generate images on the different styles that may better suit the user brand guidelines. And voila, a user has an adjusted article for the publication of social media or adding to his online store. According to Wix, the entire process can be complete in a few minutes.
Discussing the launch, Avishai Abrahami, CEO and co-founder of Wix, said: “AI is the foundation of Wixel. The design is in our DNA, and simplifying complex experiences is what we do best. We are now determined to revolutionize design by democratizing access to powerful and creative tools for everyone, whatever their design expertise. ”
I played with Wixel and, yes, if you are familiar with Canva or Express, you will have a fairly good idea what to expect. An easy -to -navigate intuitive interface, customizable models allowing users to quickly edit conceptions and create assets, and, of course, AI tools to improve and generate brand content.
The company also confirmed that future tools were in preparation, in particular the creation of stories and video. Given the trends, it is an absolute essential that cannot come quickly enough.
