Phoenix striker Mercury Dewanna Bonner returned to Indianapolis on Wednesday evening in his first match against Indiana fever since the two parties separated earlier in the season.
When Bonner registered in the game, she received hooks from the crowd of the fever. She scored four points in 21 minutes while Indiana won the victory against Phoenix, 107-101.

The hoots did not stay well with the star of Mercury Kahleah Copper. The quadruple All-Star and the WNBA champion thought Bonner had managed the hoots, but she did not understand why the Tamers had happened in the first place.
“I just don’t understand. Like, it’s a legend. All the things she has done for the League, and then the lack of respect, I just can’t go down. They have hooked her. She didn’t say a word to the crowd.
“It’s just very unpleasant what their fans do with regard to the database. It is just the sweetest soul. The situation did not work for it. It was not what it wanted or anything, but we don’t need it all. It’s just useless.”

Fever fans fired WNBA players around the league. Earlier in the year, an Indianapolis fan was accused of having made hateful comments towards Chicago Sky Players. The WNBA found no evidence of the complaint.
Bonner was one of the new faces that joined fever during the offseason after five seasons with the Connecticut Sun.
She ended up playing only nine games with Indiana. She told her release that the “cut” was not correct.
