Quratulain Balouch, the Pakistani singer famous for Woh Humsafar Thasurvived a rare attack by Bear in Deosai – an incident that prompted the Gilgit -Baltistan government to ban the campsite in Deosai National Park.

Balouch was attacked near Bara Pani and then rescued in an injured state. The hospital staff said her two arms had been injured during the incident, but they were transferred to the Skardu regional hospital where doctors confirmed that she was stable and out of danger.
Giligit Baltistan spokesperson, Faizullah Faraq, said that under the new restrictions, no tourist or traveler would be authorized to camp during the night in Deosai.
Often described as the “land of the giants”, the Deosai is one of the highest plateaus in the world, extending over 3,000 square kilometers at an altitude greater than 13,000 feet. The tray swept by the wind, lined with wild flowers in summer, houses a rare fauna, in particular the brown bear of the Himalayas endangered, the snow leopard, the IBEX, the golden marmote, the lynx, the musk deer and several species of migratory birds.
The GB government said that the campsite’s ban had been imposed to ensure the safety of visitors and protect the fragile alpine ecosystem, which, according to environmentalists, is increasingly under pressure from the increase in tourism.
