A woman and a child were killed, and two others injured, when a reprocessing truck charged with sand overturned on a car near the Karachi wrestling road in the early hours of Tuesday.
After being informed, the rescue teams rushed to the scene and moved the bodies and the injured in the hospital for formalities and medical-legal treatments respectively.
The first reports suggest that the vehicle was crushed under heavy disassembly, resulting in deadly consequences.
A representative of a local social protection organization, Shahid Hussain, confirmed that the fatal road accident occurred around 3:15 am during a dangerous race between the trucks of the Dumper.
Addressing media on the scene, Shahid Hussain said that one of the waste overturned during the race and crushed a private car bearing a family. “A woman and a child were killed on the spot while two others were injured,” he added.
The spokesman criticized the reckless behavior of defect drivers and called for strict application of traffic laws to prevent such fatal incidents in the future.
