WWE legend Fred Ottman, known in the ring as Typhoon, opened up Sunday about a health issue that left him hospitalized for a long time last month.
The former professional wrestler said he’s been in the hospital for about 30 days and wanted to let his fans, family and loved ones know that he’s OK, but he’s not “out of the woods yet.”

“Unfortunately, my gallbladder exploded inside me and released a lot of poison into my body,” Ottman said. “So, I’ve been on my back for 30 days. The doctors have been amazing – my surgeons and all that. I had a major infection as well as some of the things I’ve been dealing with. As for the infection, if I had waited one more day, the doctors told my wife I probably wouldn’t be here with you or wouldn’t be able to talk to you guys. God bless.
“But here I am, I’ve lost a lot of muscle mass. I’ve lost a lot of different things. It’s been a brutal struggle. I’ve learned to walk again. It’s been a struggle, it’s been a struggle.”
Former professional wrestling stars like Demolition, Bryan Clark and others sent their condolences to Ottman on Instagram.
