The WWE Star The Miz will be among the golfers on the field for the 36th episode of the prestigious golf tournament of celebrities of the American championship of the century.
Golfers will start to train in the Edgewood Tahoe golf course in South Lake Tahoe on the border of California and Nevada from July 9 to 13.
The MIZ, whose real name is Mike Mizanin, told PK Press Club Digital in a recent interview which he sought to bounce during this year’s event after finishing down the field last year.

“I am so devoted to doing well in the ACC that I started my own YouTube golf channel called” Miz Golf “and, literally, I train with the best of the best – George Gankas, James Leadbetter. As, you call it, I am trained for that.
“My understanding of the game has improved well.
“So, I feel very confident, very good. I’m going to go there, I’m going to beat Charles Barkley this year, and I will not be in the tail as I am usually on Sunday. I have the impression that I will be at least in the middle of the peloton.”
The ACC field is full of famous athletes and actors, from Stephen Curry and Tony Romo to Colin Jost and Ray Romano. Any average Joe could easily be starstruck playing with and against those they see on the basketball court.
For MIZ, most of the pressure he feels comes from the crowd and the television cameras.

“I feel the pressure of the public,” he said, explaining that when he goes to golf on weekends on a regular course, no one looks at him. “Here (in Edgewood), there are thousands of people. So you get a rush to adrenaline when they announce your name as your tiger woods.
“And you climb up up there, and you cannot even feel your club in your hands because your adrenaline is, your nerves go so much. And you simply pray that your ball literally swung, and it’s going straight.”
Charles Barkley is generally one of the former athletes who participate in the field. He finished 58th last year between Gary Sheffield and the famous Chef Bobby Flay.
The MIZ recalled the first time he had played the ACC and was twinned with Barkley.
“Everyone said to me:” Hey, at least you beat Charles, right? At least you beat Charles, right? “” Remember the MIZ at PK Press Club Digital. “Charles does not do golf as you see on YouTube. It was a long time ago. He followed a training. His swing is incredible. I saw Charles Barkley hit the ball and I went:” Oh, no. He’s going to fight me, and everyone will make fun of me because he plays Charles very well.
“So, I mean, just go up and down the route, be intimidated by Charles Barkley, that everyone said that I was going to beat, is a moment in my mind.”
Overall, the MIZ said that the Edgewood Tahoe golf course ranks in its top five golf courses he had played, and he is looking forward to the tournament.
The tournament will also collect funds for local and national charities. The event is a stable format of 54 holes in which golfers earn points for each hole depending on the peer score. The golfer who reaches the most points wins.

Former tennis star Mardy Fish won the tournament last year. Stephen Curry was winner in 2023. The Golden State Warriors star will be back on the field in July.
