Pakistan has partially raised restrictions on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, restoring access to certain users without the need for VPN or proxy services.

Many X users reported that their accounts were accessible without the use of VPNs or proxy services.

The decision marks the end of the months of borders imposed by the state which started shortly after the general elections in February 2024. Since then, millions of Pakistanis have had to rely on third -party tools to access the microblogging site.

This decision comes at an era of increased military tensions with neighboring India.

Earlier, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), lieutenant-general Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that Indian forces had led air strikes at six sites inside Pakistan, targeting Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Muridke.

Speaking at a press conference early Wednesday morning, he shared that eight civilians were martyred while 33 were injured. The armed forces of Pakistan delivered a strong response and coordinated to the Indian air strikes, confirmed DG ISPR.

Pakistan has shot down five enemy aircraft for retail for the attack on India, according to security sources. The plane was targeted after hitting the Pakistani territory using Indian airspace, the sources added.
