President Xi Jinping welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif from Pakistan, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong one in Beijing for the 80th anniversary of China’s victory over Japanese aggression, marked by a large military parade presenting the world power of China.
The presence of Putin and Sharif reports Chinese-Russian links, which could move the balance of long-term powers.

President XI, also secretary general of the Chinese Communist Party, President of the State and president of the Central Military Commission, led the parade and inspected the troops of the Popular Liberation Army (PLA) walking along Chang’an avenue.
More than 45 military training courses participated in the parade, presenting the military power of China through a series of impressive weapons and machines.

The parade presented advanced military equipment, including the 99B reservoir, hypersonic missiles and intercontinental missiles of Dongfeng 31 and Dongfeng 60, highlighting the strategic deterrence of China.
The Missile and the Red Flag of Julang 3 submarines and the air defense systems launched have also demonstrated China’s growth capacities in nuclear defense, air defense and autonomous combat systems.

One of the most symbolic moments of the event was the release of 80,000 doves of peace and colorful balloons, signaling the message of peace in China in the midst of its powerful military display.
More than 50,000 spectators in Tiananmen Square have watched air screens. The parade brought together 26 world leaders, marking the world importance of this anniversary and the growing influence of China on the international scene.

President XI concluded his speech with a powerful message, saying: “The Chinese nation has won victory with major sacrifices, and now it is our responsibility to learn from history and work towards the protection of peace.”
