XRP Ledger EVM Sidechain is online, unlocked Ethereum Dapps in the XRP ecosystem

Ripple officially presented the Ethereum virtual machine of the XRP Ledger (EVM) Sidechain in Mainnet in order to improve the interoperability of the ecosystem and allow developers to deploy their decentralized applications based on Ethereum (dapps) with XRPL.

Development adds compatible EVM intelligent contracts while maintaining an XRPL connection, giving developers access to the low -cost ecosystem, said Ripple in a blog article. It is designed to eliminate compatibility between EVM compatibility and the own advantages of XRPL, opening the door to DAPPs to rely on XRP’s payment infrastructure.

“The XRPL EVM Sidechain introduces a flexible environment for developers to deploy EVM-based applications, while maintaining a connection with the efficiency of the XRPL,” said David Schwartz, director of technology at Ripple and Co-creator of XRPL, in the position. “It extends the capacities of the ecosystem without modifying the fundamentals that make XRPL reliable.”

The resize chain works like a parallel separate blockchain and connected to the large XRP book on the focused deck, an interoperability protocol. XRPL native token, XRP

will serve as a native gas token for the side chain.

The chain is designed specifically for developers, as they can now build and deploy their applications based on EVM, while accessing the network of more than 6 million XRPL wallets, Ripple said. Sidechain is planned to possibly integrate into Wormhole, another interoperability protocol, allowing even more developers to access the XRP ecosystem.
