- Nintendo has now specified that Switch 2 Edition cartridges will present the full game and upgrades
- There is still a certain uncertainty concerning the DLC
- My Nintendo Store customer service representatives said Wilderness Edition 2 Switch 2 “will not include paid DLCs”
Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will contain the full game and upgrades on the cartridge, but there is still an uncertainty surrounding downloadable content (DLC).
Last week, a Nintendo customer service representative caused some confusion among the fans after the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct by informing a player that the Switch 2 Edition games will be original switching cartridges with an attached download code.
Nintendo has now specified that this is not the case and that improved games, as Zelda’s legend: Kingdom tears And Zelda’s legend: Breath of the Wild,, will include the full game and upgrades to the Switch 2 Edition cartridge.
In a statement to Vooks, a spokesperson for Nintendo said: “The physical versions of the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games will include the original Nintendo Switch game and its upgrade pack on the same game card (that is, they are exclusively Nintendo Switch 2 game cards).
Although we have a confirmation on this aspect, there is still an uncertainty surrounding the DLC, in particular with regard to Wilderness and its expansion pass.
As Gonintendo reported, a customer service representative of My Nintendo Store said that the WildernessThe Switch 2 edition “will not include the content of the extension pass”, which includes The masters tests And Champion’s ballad.
Another user on Reddit also shared a message from another representative of My Nintendo Store, who claimed something similar.
“This game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition – My Nintendo store will not include paid DLCs. If you buy the Switch 2 version in physics, it will arrive in the corresponding game box, “the message will read.
We still have no official Nintendo confirmation, but it seems that, as with the Switch version, players will have to buy the DLC packs again to play them on Switch 2.
It is also difficult to know if it applies to all Switch 2 Edition games with DLC.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is officially launched on June 5, 2025 and will cost $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / 429.99 £ for a Mario Kart World pack.
Pre-orders are now alive in the United Kingdom, but Nintendo has announced that American pre-orders and Canada pre-orders have been delayed to “assess the potential impact of changes in evolution”.
