- Google Gemini has six new iPhone lock screen widgets
- Gemini also has new shortcuts at the iPhone control center
- Widgets include instant access to voice input, image recognition and file analysis
Google just made much easier to talk to Gemini on an iPhone, even before it is unlocked. The Gemini application now offers widgets for iPhone locking screens and the control center, which makes it less like a third -party chatbot and more as an integrated functionality of iOS.
The six new locking screen widgets offer instant access to a different gem function. Before this update, going to Gemini meant unlock your phone, find and open to the application, then choose what you wanted to do. Although barely an event, it was not exactly transparent. Now, however, you can jump directly into the action with a single tap.
The “Private” type widget allows you to quickly draw a question from Gemini without opening the complete application. Need a quick response to find out if penguins have knees? Now you can discover it without disturbing everything you do with the other. “Talk Live” is just as practical, allowing you to dive directly into a real -time conversation with Gemini, first jumping the additional step to launch the cat.
The “Open Micro” option is perfect when your hands are full, but you suddenly remember that you must define a reminder, plan a meeting or ask Gemini to write an email. If you are the kind of person who frequently thinks of the list of tasks in the worst possible moments, it could save you from the familiar cycle of “I will remember that later”, then, inevitably, forgetting.
There are also camera -based features that transform Gemini into a visual search engine on demand. The “Use Camera” widget allows you to take a photo and ask questions about what is in front of you, which is ideal for identifying the mysterious ingredients in your refrigerator or confirming that the spider in your bathroom is probably harmless. The “Share the Image” and the “Sharing File” options allow you to download the existing media so that the Gemini can analyze, that you want more information, a creative inspiration or simply someone (or something) to recognize your last masterpiece.
If you prefer to make the Gemini more invisible, you can adjust the shortcuts on the corner buttons where the pocket lamp buttons and the camera generally reside. You can also be part of the control center, allowing you to slip into iOS to see them. Google seems eager to ensure that Gemini feel more comfortable on your iPhone than Siri, frankly.

IPhone Gemini
It should also be noted that Gemini’s attempt to integrate on the iPhone comes when Apple works to rework Siri for the new AI era. As this complete restilling has not yet arrived, Google could try to get used to iPhone users in Gemini before the IA Siri start.
He also opens the land for a new type of rivalry among AI assistants. Rather than being relegated to an application that you visit when you remember that there is, AI becomes a more immediate daily presence. With these new widgets, interaction with Gemini can be as usual as checking notifications or adjusting the brightness.
It is a big jump from the time of virtual assistants who feel like new products that you would occasionally ask to tell you a joke before forgetting them entirely.
For the moment, this update is a clear victory for iPhone users who like to use Gemini. It makes the assistant faster, more accessible and more transparent in daily life. There remains the start of an AI assistant control on a large scale, but it will certainly be more difficult to ignore if you add it to your locking screen.
