- Reliable source claims Samsung Galaxy triple will likely only launch in several Asian regions
- This is slightly at odds with an earlier leak, which suggested it “might” have a wider launch.
- Since it will likely be an expensive and imperfect phone, it may not be a good buy anyway.
One of the biggest questions surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy tri-fold is where it will actually be available, and therefore whether you’ll be able to buy it, and now we have some new information on that.
According to Evan Blass – a leaker with a superb track record – the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold (or Samsung Galaxy TriFold, as one leak suggests) will likely only be sold in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore and possibly the United Arab Emirates.
They’re not 100% sure, but say it’s “highly unlikely” that the Samsung Galaxy triple will be sold outside of these regions. That said, there is still some hope, as an earlier leak suggested that countries like the US and UK “could” see a launch.
Unfortunately for foldable enthusiasts – and despite recent rumors to the contrary – I think it’s very unlikely that Samsung will launch its first triple beyond Korea, the large Chinese market (including Singapore and Taiwan), and possibly the UAE. But I would love to be wrong.October 26, 2025
We’re not optimistic, though, because aside from Blass generally being right about phone-related things, the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold doesn’t really seem like a mass-market proposition. This is a completely new phone form factor (at least in Western markets), so Samsung won’t know yet if there’s a lot of demand – and given the likely very high price, there probably won’t be a huge demand.
As such, it would make sense for the company to give it a fairly limited launch, and if it does well enough, perhaps follow it up with a new model a year later that ships more widely.
Better to wait
If you were hoping to be able to buy the Samsung Galaxy triple, this might be disappointing, but as Blass points out in another article that this limited availability could be a blessing in disguise, just like the original Samsung Galaxy Fold, it could be an unpolished and imperfect product.
So chances are you’re better off waiting for the second generation of the device, where Samsung will have received user feedback and likely made significant improvements.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that there will ever be a second-generation model, or that such a device will launch more widely than the initial Samsung Galaxy triple – all of which will likely depend on how well that first model performs.
And since we can’t completely rule out this first model going global, it’s still worth keeping an eye out for it at launch, which according to leaks will be on October 31 or November 1, so we could be days away from seeing it.
