The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa section of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) warned against boycott throughout the province if the provincial government does not improve the working conditions of medicine graduates and increases their wages.

He also stressed that the Public Service Commission has not recruited doctors for six years, and doctors with merit have been ignored in favor of political ties.

Dr. Hafiz demanded that employment wages be increased, doctors’s wages be increased and that promotions in a timely time be ensured.

He also asked that professionals be included in the board of directors and that internal hostels be established in medical faculties to provide accommodation to doctors. In addition, he demanded that house officers be paid and provided with specialization slots.

The president of the YDA paid tribute to the dedication of doctors during the pandemic, earthquakes and COVID-19 floods, but deplored that they are not recognized or rewarded.

He asked that doctors who lost their lives during the pandemic be designed the Shaheed package and that the COVVI-19 funds be used at an end.

Dr. Hafiz has warned that if their requests are not satisfied, the YDA will be forced to close all hospitals in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and continue its protest to the resignation of the Minister of Health.

He urged the government to release funds for doctors and respond to their requests to avoid confrontation.
