More children strike the ties.
According to the National Golf Foundation, 3.7 million young people, aged 6 to 17, played golf on a course in 2024, an increase of almost 50% compared to five years earlier.
One of the big ones of all time, Annika Sörenstam, is the source of a new effort to help even more young people practice sport. Sörenstam has teamed up with Bank of America for an initiative entitled “Golf with Us”.
“This initiative is close to my heart because it is a way to help develop the golf game, and we will do it by giving young children the opportunity to make golf more affordable. So, by registering and obtaining (Ting) … Annual membership, you are fortunate to play on thousands of lessons for five dollars or less.
And Sörenstam says that golf is not only to participate in the course. “If you are a golfer, you need so much patience and, as you know, when you are in the world or simply life in general, patience is really important,” she said.
Sörenstam also underlines discipline, concentration and determination, the qualities which, according to her, are necessary both in golf and in life outside of sport.
