- Facebook will soon deploy Passkeys for Facebook on mobile devices
- Passkeys offers greater security and easier connection than passwords
- Passkeys to Messenger will also be available soon
Meta has introduced Passkey’s care for Facebook on mobile devices, which will considerably decrease the chances that someone hacks your account.
Rather than using a clumsy and easily guessed password to connect, you can now use a fingerprint, a face or a pin to check that you log in to your account.
Better still, Passkeys is often faster to use than passwords, which means that your whole Facebook experience should be even easier.
Facebook obtains keys
Passkeys for Facebook on iOS and Android mobile devices “will soon be available,” said Meta, with Passkeys to Messenger also who should be published in the “months to come”.
Passkeys is a much more resilient alternative to passwords and unique codes because they cannot be stolen and are much less sensitive to malicious sites that seek to steal your connection details, such as the fields of typing of typing fault. They can also be a good alternative to the use of a password manager which requires a constant rear between applications in order to enter your password.
Your passing key is stored locally on your device, which means that Meta does not have access to it. An unfortunate disadvantage of Passkeys is that if you lose your mobile device that stores your pass pass, it can be a little hassle taking up your account and set up a new touch.
Meta has also announced that Passkeys will also be used to check payments via Meta Pay, and will soon also be used to protect your encrypted message backups once Passkeys for Messenger will arrive.
To configure a key key, go to the Facebook application settings menu, then click on Account center → Password and security → Passing key. If Passkeys is available, Facebook can even invite you to configure one the next time you connect.
