- Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses get two main AI updates
- The characteristics of the IA camera take place in European countries
- Live translation tools take place wherever glasses are available
After the deployment of Meta Ai’s improved features in the United Kingdom earlier this month, Meta announced another update of her Ray-Ban intelligent glasses-and it is the one that will bring them to be the ultimate tourist gadget.
Indeed, two features are more widely deployed: look and request and translation live.
Thanks to their cameras, your glasses (when invited) can take an image and use it as a context for a question you ask them, like “hey Meta, what is the name of this flower?” Or “heya, what can you tell me about this landmark?”
This tool was available in the United Kingdom and the United States, but it now arrives in European countries, including Italy, France, Spain, Norway and Germany-you can consult the full list of countries supported on the Meta website.
During a recent trip to Italy, I used my glasses to help myself know more about Pompeii and other historic sites while I was traveling, although it can sometimes be a challenge so that the glasses understand how much I was talking because my pronunciation was not stellar. I couldn’t find out more about a benchmark either before I learned what it was called, so that I could say his name to the glasses.
Being able to take a photo instead and make the glasses recognize the monuments for me would have made the specifications much more useful than a tourist guide, so I am delighted to give them a whirlwind during my next European vacation.
Say what?
The other tool that everyone can be excited is live translation, which is finally taking place in all countries that support the glasses (so that the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and European countries have a look and a demand).
Your intelligent specifications will be able to translate between English, French, Italian and Spanish.
The best of all, you will not need Wi-Fi connection, provided you have downloaded the necessary language pack.
In addition, you don’t have to worry about the fact that conversations are unilateral. You will hear the translation through the glasses, but the person you are talking to can read what you say in the Meta View application on your phone.
Apart from the face -to -face conversations, I can see this tool being super practical for situations where you do not have time to take out your phone, for example to help you understand public transport ads.
In addition to the translation skills of glasses signs, these new features will make your specifications even more an essential travel companion – I will certainly not leave them at home the next time I take a vacation.
