- OPENAI provides agent mode to its mac application
- Agent mode is accessible from the toolbar menu
- Now you can leave long tasks in the background while you work on something else
Openai has added its new agent mode to its Chatgpt MacOS application, and it is available at the moment, if you are a more subscriber. When you use Chatgpt via the Mac application, you will see the agent as one of the options in the toolbar that lives under the prompt window. Select it and now you are in agent mode.
OPENAI launched the Agent or Agent Chatgpt mode, as it is also called, last week, and it is a way to combine all the power of in -depth research with the agental properties of its previous agent, called operator.
During the launch event, Sam Altman and Co showed several uses of the agent, such as planning major events, such as a marriage, or the production of a presentation based on a wide range of data that he must leave and find.
OPENAI describes the chatgpt agent as “chatgpt which can think and act, by choosing proactively from a toolbox of agent skills to perform tasks for you using your own computer”.

Alternative access
Openai also makes a version of its application for Windows users, but that has not yet added an agent mode.
We have noticed that some people do not yet see the new agent icon in their toolbar on the Mac application.
Presumably, this will be corrected as the modification takes place, but if you use the Mac application and you do not see an agent button at the bottom of your interface, then do not worry, you can always access the agent mode.
Just type / / And a list of options will appear, one of which is the “agent mode”.
The version of the Chatgpt desktop application is more integrated into the operating system than simply using chatgpt in a web browser.
For example, you can launch chatgpt from any desktop screen with a keyboard shortcut. Use the + space option on macOS or Alt + Space on Windows.
The desktop version of the Chatgpt application also has an advanced voice mode, so you can chat with Chatgpt in real time using the microphone.
Although we welcome the new Chatgpt agent mode, it opens your Mac to more vulnerabilities. It was something that the Openai team addressed during the launch, and Sam Altman said there could be a new wave of threats that target AI agents who are just trying to be useful.
