- Oura Ring can now follow metabolic health
- A new meal feature can follow nutrition content and give an overview of meals schedules
- A new glucose feature uses a paired biosper to measure your glucose levels
Oura announced today that two of the best smart rings on the market, the Oura Ring 3 and Oura Ring 4, now have a support for monitoring metabolic health thanks to its new meals and glucose features.
Meals, after the months of the Oura Labs tests, are now available in the Oura application. By simply taking a photo of what is on your plate, Oura can help you understand the dishes to analyze the key nutritional choices and the balance of your meal, labeling components such as proteins or as low, moderate or high carbohydrates.
This information can be transformed into comments and information to help you make more informed choices on your diet.
Oura Ring obtains the integration of glucose monitoring
Oura has also announced a new glucose monitoring integration thanks to a partnership with Dexcom. You can now follow your glucose levels directly in the OURA application when you use the Dexcom Stelo Glucose biospapper, one of the most popular continuous glucose monitors. The sensor provides readings every 15 minutes to help you understand how meals, activities and your daily habits have an impact on blood sugar.
Oura says that his approach “encourages you to focus on the overview of your blood sugar over time” rather than individual glucose tips.
The company says that the two upgrades will give users a more global vision of the impact of their food choices on their overall health.
The two features take place now for Ura Ring 3 and Oura Ring 4 members in the United States. He follows the Apple Watch, which also launched the integration of Dexcom last year.
