Microsoft has been on a mission lately to mark everything by an Xbox, mainly at the rear of the company’s cloud streaming efforts. The last Xbox? Why is your LG TV of course.
The latest LG update to its television operating system (teasing for the first time in January) brings the Xbox application, although currently in a beta version. The result means that you can now play any cloud diffusion game on your screen without console. Everything you need is an Xbox controller and an Ultimate Pass Ultimate subscription to activate Cloud streaming.
If you have a webos 24 or webos 25 compatible TV (to facilitate it, if your LG TV launched in 2022 or after, or if it is a Stanbyme 2021 screen), you can install the Xbox application immediately. There will be no download required, except for the application itself. The update will take place to Stanbyme TVS after other compatible webos 24 models.
This is not a first for game streaming, Samsung TVS has supported the Xbox Cloud Gaming application since 2022 and Amazon Fire TV devices have taken care of it since 2024.
With your Xbox controller by hand and ultimate active subscription, you can play games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered,, Minecraft,, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 And more of your television – go to the gaming portal of your LG display and launch the Xbox application to start.
Although being prepared for certain quality problems. A rapid internet connection will massively improve your cloud gaming experience, improving the quality of streaming and latency.
Here in Australia, I personally had a lot of problems with Xbox Streaming Cloud games on my PC and Samsung projector with my compatible internet of 100 Mbps, but obviously it could be a non-problem for your household.
LG televisions are very impressive. The LG C4 is currently the best model in the list of the best Techradar televisions and the new flagship ship LG G5 has scored five stars in our criticism. The mid -range LG C5 also scored five impressive stars, remaining a higher choice for people who want a high -end screen without gigantic price (the C5 will probably replace the C4 soon on our list).
If you care about having a quick and responsive gameplay in the living room, you might be better to buy an Xbox console, as the affordable series or the powerful X series, or you could also take a PlayStation 5.
But for occasional games where you could only play a handful of titles, if you are looking for something to entertain children, or if you just don’t want to pay the total price for a game, Xbox Cloud Gaming could be interesting.
