- YouTube Music has a new feature of music guests AI
- It looks like AI DJ in Spotify
- The new feature is part of a Labs Youtube portal
If you are a YouTube music user in the United States, you can have a new experimentality to test in your account: it is introduced in the context of what YouTube calls YouTube Labs, it therefore seems that more experiences will be on the future.
YouTube Labs is apparently “dedicated to exploring the potential of AI on YouTube”, and the first test to pass is something called AI music hosts. These hosts will “deepen your listening experience” by sharing relevant stories, fans anecdotes and “fun” comments between the pieces of the Youtube music application.
According to the official announcement, it is open to a “limited number” of users in the United States – we are not yet part of the group, so we cannot tell you exactly how the functionality works. However, it looks like a DJ AI available as part of Spotify Premium.
The people of 9TO5GOOGLE worked the functionality of the AI music hosts, and it adds a new button to the reading screen now, just to the right of the thumb and thumb buttons. You can press this to activate the interjections powered by AI.
What is new is new
It seems to be a bit of a rebranding exercise rather than a completely new initiative. For some time now, users of YouTube Premium have been able to go to www.youtube.com/new to test a variety of experimental features.
Now, the same URL is used for YouTube Labs, so it seems that he just has a new name and a new IA development (surprise surprise). In fact, he didn’t really have an old name – he was simply called the page of experimental functionalities. Past experiences have included more audio quality and reading speed options.
Although the announcement of the YouTube blog article does not specify that the features are exclusive to YouTube Premium, there is a premium YouTube tag attached to the article, so you should probably subscribe to take advantage of this first test.
Previous experiences have often been limited to specific regions and devices, but are sometimes deployed to everyone. We will have to wait and see exactly how this Host of Music AI works, and what else in the pipeline.
