Veo 3, the video that changes the situation with audio generator, goes from creation to creation to a free version inside youtube shorts.
The CEO of YouTube, Neal Mohan, announced the change pending during a speech during the marketing event of Cannes Lions in France. “I am incredibly excited by the potential of AI tools to empower human creativity,” said Mohan, before revealing that Veo 3 would arrive in shorts “later this summer”.

If there was a factor limiting at the reach of Veo 3, it was that it is part of the Gemini Ultra Premium platform, which can cost up to $ 249.99 per month. Gemini Pro ($ 19.99 per month) also offers access, but it is limited to one or two clips of 8 seconds a day.

This changes the situation. This means that suddenly, YouTube shorts will be the destination to generate wild-filled audio videos and could cause a little drainage of the activity generated by Ai-Ai-Ai (and its companion video editing application, CAPCUT).

As I wrote earlier this year, the introduction of Veo 3 is a real “talkies” moment for AI video. Even if we have had powerful tools like Sora of Openai for almost a year, there has been no way to easily make a video of AI fully scripted with an audio dialogue up to Veo 3. I used it to create fantastic videos starring dinosaurs and to recreate almost the first YouTube video.
It is not that Veo 3 will make a feature film without your contribution. VEO 3 prompts require details at the script level, including dialogue, stage descriptions, camera angles, shooting styles and everything you can think of talking about VEO 3 on your production. And everything should be in the form of an prompt.
Veo 3 is not perfect. The videos created via the platform are generally presented in 8 seconds segments which can lack continuity (I noticed how the appearance of the main character subtly goes from one scene to another). This, however, will probably be corrected in future updates.
As for the way VEO 3 will be presented in YouTube Shorts, expect it to be similar to membership today.
