Beijing:
President Asif Ali Zardari met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Wednesday in which the two parties discussed the positive trajectory of the bilateral relationship, the high quality development of CPEC 2.0 and the importance of the links and cultural exchanges of people to people.
During the meeting held at the Greater People’s Hall during the five -day official visit to President Zardari in China, the two leaders also discussed thanks to high -level exchanges.
They highlighted the vital role of CPEC 2.0 in the promotion of regional connectivity, shared advantages and common prosperity, including through partnerships with other countries.
The two parties also highlighted the importance of people’s ties to people and cultural exchanges to strengthen the Chinese-Pakistani community of a shared future in the new era.
Stressing the lasting friendship between the two countries, the two leaders have also reaffirmed each other for each other on questions of fundamental interest.
President Zardari reaffirmed that Pakistan is an unshakable commitment from Pakistan to its strategic cooperative partnership all times with China and stressed the unique, proven and special relationship between the two countries. He also congratulated the exemplary development, progress and prosperity of China, describing it as a manifestation of the vision of Chinese leadership and the dynamism of the Chinese people.
President Zardari also paid a rich tribute to President Xi Jinping for the deep contributions of China to world development under the Belt & Road (BRI) initiative. He called the Economic corridor of Pakistan China (CPEC) as a brilliant model of the visionary concept of BRI of win-win cooperation.
President Zardari has extended the invitation to President Xi to visit Pakistan, stressing that the people and the government of Pakistan hold it in high esteem as a visionary leader and as a special Imi from Pakistan.
The meeting was followed by a signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding where the two leaders witnessed the signing of employment to improve cooperation in the fields of science and technology, of the media, the ‘clean energy and socio-economic development, among others.
Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari was warmly welcomed by President XI and presented the guard of honor upon arrival. A group of children also granted a warm welcome and offered a sincere reception to the president.
After the ceremony, President Xi Jinping organized a state banquet in honor of President Asif Ali Zardari and his delegation which accompanies him.

President Asif Ali Zardari and the President of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji, underlined the proven friendship on Wednesday and all the times between the two countries, which continued to grow in depth and in reach during the decades.
The president met with the president of the permanent committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Zhao Leji, said the president of the Press Wing secretariat in a press release.
They also underlined strategic mutual trust as the cornerstone of the China-Pakistan relationship and stressed the importance of high-level exchanges to further deepen continuous practical cooperation.
The two parties also discussed the high quality development of CPEC 2.0, with a particular emphasis on the promotion of cooperation in science and technology, renewable energies, infrastructure and agriculture.
They described CPEC as a brilliant example of people centered on people, emphasizing win-win cooperation, shared advantages and common prosperity.
The two parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening institutional links, in particular through parliamentary exchanges and participation in the joint advisory mechanism of CPEC political parties, in order to further consolidate bilateral cooperation.
