The Central Committee of Rue-E-Hilal announced that the Moon of Zil Hajj was not seen in the country, confirming that the first day of Zil Hajj will be observed on May 29, while Eidul Azha will be celebrated on June 7.
The announcement was made by the president of the Rue-E-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, who chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, president Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad said that no credible testimony of observation of the Moon had been received from a part of the country.

“It was decided with consensus that the first day of Zil Hajj, will take place on May 29, Thursday, and Eidul Azha will be observed on June 7 on Saturday,” he said.
He also pointed out that weather conditions across the country had hampered the observation efforts of the moon, with a cloudy sky that prevailed in most regions.
The meeting was followed by members of the Central Rue-E-Hilal Committee, as well as representatives of Suparco and the Meteorological Department, who were present to provide assistance.
In addition to the central meeting, meetings of the Zonal Committee also took place in cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and other regions.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia confirmed on Friday June 6, because the first day of Eidul Azha after the Crescent of Zil Hajj was seen on Tuesday with the Hajj which will take place on Thursday, June 5.
The observation committees of the moon across the Arab world and other Muslim majority countries observed the crescent moon of Zil Hajj – the 12th and last month of the Islamic lunar calendar – Tuesday, May 27.
The kingdom announced that the Crescent of Zil Hajj had been seen, confirming that on Friday, June 6, will mark the first day of Eidul Azha. The United Arab Emirates also announced the observation of the Moon, declaring that Eidul ZDHA will be observed on Friday, June 6.
