Darrier and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar landed in Kabul today for the first official trilateral meeting between China, Pakistan and Afghanistan in two years. Dar was accompanied by the former Pakistan ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq.
The three countries have undertaken to fight terrorism and to deepen collaboration in the fields of health, education, culture, drug trafficking and also offering Afghanistan an extension of the CPEC, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a statement published by the Afghan AFTromane Ministry, “Pakistan was invited to maintain the rights of Afghan refugees residing in the country and Ishaq Dar expressed its determination to further expand trade with Afghanistan.”

The Afghan delegation reiterated their commitment to ensure that Afghan territory is not used by any terrorist group against another nation.
Afghanistan and China had bilateral talks earlier in the day they discussed economic cooperation. According to a tweet from the Afghan Foreign Ministry, “Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi presented his practical proposals concerning the expansion of economic cooperation between Afghanistan and China, in particular in the fields of transport, banking relations and balance between trade.”
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is currently doing a South Asian tour, is expected to arrive in Islamabad to co-chair the 6th strategic dialogue of Pakistani foreign ministers on August 21. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should also visit Beijing later this month for the Shanghai organization summit and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
