Islamabad: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Beijing brought his relationship with Islamabad to new heights when he started an official three -day visit to Pakistan, highlighting the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries.

FM Wang Yi arrived in the federal capital on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening bilateral links and participating in high -level diplomatic commitments.

He was warmly received in Nur Khan Airbase by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar. High civil servants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the best diplomats of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, were also present to welcome the distinguished guest, said a statement published by the DPM office.

At a joint press conference, DAR said that the two parties had organized a productive discussion covering all the dimensions of bilateral links, including the Chinese-Pakistani economic corridor (CPEC).

He added that Pakistan is determined to advance the second phase of CPEC, to improve the exchanges of people to persons and to deepen cooperation, adding that the two countries benefited from a consensus on all the main questions.

Dar also said that Islamabad evaluated the role of China in the safeguarding of Pakistan’s sovereignty and stressed that the two nations were determined to work together for regional peace, stability and prosperity. He also added that the next visit to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Beijing was one of the discussions.

Wang Yi said the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China continued to strengthen. He stressed that detailed discussions had taken place on the second phase of the CPEC, reiterating that China considered Pakistan as an ally of trust. He stressed that regional peace and stability were objectives shared for the two countries.

During the visit, the two parties will discuss the entire range of bilateral relations. The dialogue serves as a key platform for the two countries to examine bilateral cooperation, regional developments and global problems of mutual interest.

The strategic dialogue will be co -chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar, also reflecting the close coordination between the two countries.

According to a previous declaration from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit is part of the high -level regular exchanges aimed at further strengthening the “strategic cooperative partnership every time” between Pakistan and China.

Dialogue will reaffirm mutual support on the fundamental interests of others, will improve economic and commercial cooperation and underline the commitment of the two countries towards regional peace, development and stability.
