Why would the 21-year-old make the change now before the last big home of the year? The answer may have to do with its service.
Since its shocking outing in the first round in Wimbledon, Gauff has fought with its service, which plays a huge factor to beat the best in the world, especially in tournaments like the US Open.

Macmillan has a story of reparation for one of the best services in female tennis, because Aryna Sabalenka, world n ° 1, used its expertise to correct this part of its game.
Macmillan was spotted on the field of Stade Arthur Ashe on Wednesday morning while Gauff struck with Elina Svitolina.

“Many things add up, and it could be a very good relationship,” Darren Cahill d’Espn told Forbes about Gauff and Macmillan. “He is very meticulous. … I have told him many times before, and the fact that he has experience with different athletes of different sports, both male and feminine, he uses new technology, he goes a lot to video, really decomposes biomechanics.”
Macmillan is the founder of Sports Science Lab, specializing in sports performance, physical form and physical rehabilitation.
The Gauff game was not completely offset this year, having won the French Open in May. But her service was incoherent, and she clearly wants to get ahead before a tournament through the United States would love to see her win on the floor at home.
Gauff was the 2023 Flushing champion, Queens, but she could not defend her title in 2024 when she lost in the fourth round. Sabalenka then defeated another American, Jessica Pegula, in two sets to win the victory.
