President Donald Trump warned California and Governor Gavin Newsom about transgender policies of the state when a new issue appeared in the volleyball of secondary school girls earlier this month.

Transgender athlete Ab Hernandez played volleyball for girls for the Jurupa Valley High School month team after having created an athletics bustle. Riverside Poly High School announced that his team would lose instead of playing against Jurupa Valley.

California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) policies were at the forefront of controversy. While the organization has changed some of its athletic policies, the United States Ministry of Justice has filed a complaint against CIF and California Department of Education (CDE) on biological men continues to compete with women. The policy has at the Trump decree, which he signed in February.

“Any school district of California who does not adhere to our transgender policies will not be funded. Thank you for your attention to this question!” Trump wrote in an article on Truth Social.

The Newsom office responded to a request for comments.

“If it’s a day ending in Y, President Trump attacks security, health and children’s access to education as part of his cultural war,” Newsom spokesman Elana Ross told PK Press Club Digital.

Transgender athletes in the sports of girls and women are a problem that does not seem to disappear despite the executive order “no men in female sports” of Trump.

California is one of the rare states that has not yet changed their policies to join the switch. The Kern County Board of Education recently changed its own policies in defiance of state policy.

Newsom previously declared that the CDE and the CIF followed laws that the State had promulgated in 2013, but said on several occasions that he thought that men competing in the sports of girls are “unfair”.

“I had trouble with the question of equity with regard to sport,” said Newsom in response to the trial during a July event. “And we tried to understand this a few years ago, and we failed. And we had trouble with that recently.

“And my position is that I don’t think it’s just, but I also think that it is degrading to talk to people and lower the trans community. And I don’t like the way the right wing talks about the trans community. These people just want to survive.”
