- Google presented the new equipment during the Made by Google event
- This includes a mystery smart speaker that we have not seen before
- It could materialize during an event in a few months
On August 20, 2025, produced by Google Event gave us a lot of new equipment to be adjusted – including (of course) the new Android smartphones Google Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro Fold. But in a quick segment (not completely flashy and you “ lL-Miss-it), we saw an unexpected smart google speaker.
The showcase was filled with cameos, and in such a star showcase, we saw the Formula 1 pilot Lando Norris and the NBA player Giannis Antetokoun Trade Places – and use the advice of Gemini to better fight against the sport of the other.
Pixel 10 phones have appeared, and Norris also used a new mini-high-resistant with Gemini.
As you can see in the image above, the device is not like Google currently – our Becky Scarrott audio editor described its look like “like a HomePod Mini in a Google dress but with an echo -outline ring around the bottom”, which summarizes it perfectly.
It also seems to have Google Gemini reasoning powers depending on how it was used, suggesting that it could be launched as part of gemini for home upgrade that Google has promised.
Although the gemini upgrade is also promised for existing smart speakers and displays, it is certainly logical that Google would like to upgrade its range with new equipment.
We did not have new equipment from the Google Nest Hub (2nd generation) in 2021, and before that, the last Nest speaker that we got was the Google Nest Audio, which reproduced in our best list of smart speakers (but especially because it is the best for Google).
We have therefore been late for a long time for an upgrade, and it seems that Google is ready to deliver one in the not too distant future.
We will most likely see something “in the fall” (therefore September to November) as it is at this moment that Google has promised a major update, which should also resolve the many complaints that Nest users have about their devices.
