DPM goes during the official two -day visit to Bangladesh

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar left for an official two-day visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of the Bangladais government.

The trip, described as long awaited, had been postponed twice – once in May after the increased Pakistani -Indian tensions after the attack by Pahalgam.

“At the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, will pay an official visit to Bangladesh on August 23, 2025,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

During his stay in Dacca, Dar should meet the chief advisor to Professor Muhammad Yunus and the foreign affairs advisor Touhid Hossain. “All bilateral relations and several regional and international questions will be discussed during these meetings,” added the press release.

The visit comes at a time when a Senior Bangladaise military delegation is in Pakistan, signaling a growing commitment between the two countries.

According to a press release from the ISPR, Lieutenant-Général MD Faizur Rahman, general district of the Bangladesh army, called General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, chairman of the Chiefs of the Chiefs of Staff, at the headquarters of the joint staff of Rawalpindi.

The two parties discussed the regional security environment and underlined the need to strengthen defense and security cooperation. General Mirza underlined the ascending trajectory of bilateral links and underlined new paths for collaboration.

The general visiting general welcomed the professionalism of the armed forces of Pakistan and recognized their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

Relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh have improved considerably since the eviction of the government of Sheikh Hasina Wajid last year.

The interim government of Dacca has since recalibrated its foreign policy, opening the way to a reset of links with Islamabad.
