Raw Network behind the murder of Badin Activist Dismanted: CTD

Karachi:

The Department of the Fight against Terrorism (CTD) of the SINDH and the Federal Intelligence Agencies have dismantled a network of research and analysis of the Indian Intelligence Agencies (RAW), which would have been involved in the murder of the social activist Abdul Rehman in Badin.

IG CTD Azaad Khan additional, as well as Dig Ghulam Azfar Mahesar and SSP Irfan Ali Bahadur, informed journalists about the case. Six suspects were arrested and admitted to having planned terrorist conspiracies in Karachi, CTD officials said at a press conference at the Central Police Office.

According to officials, Abdul Rehman, 45, known locally for social work, was shot in the jurisdiction of the Matli police station in the Badin district in May. The attackers fled after the attack. Investigators said video surveillance images and witnesses identified three suspects. Two were arrested and the murder weapon and the motorcycle used were recovered.

CTD said RAW had set up a safe house in Karachi and that the plot had been organized by an agent named Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar, alias Fauji, based in a Gulf State. He would have recruited Salman and Arsalan of Sheikhupura, who then formed a gang with Muhammad Umair, Sajjad, Obaid and Shakeel, Umair leading the operation.

Officials said RAW provided significant funding for the attack, with retraced money transfers in banks and other channels. A distinct case under the laws on the financing of terrorism has been registered.

Six suspects – Asghar, Sajjad, Obaid, Shakeel, Arsalan and Talha Umair, were arrested, and weapons, a motorcycle and mobile phones were seized. Authorities said efforts continued to stop other accomplices and facilitators.
