Geekom launched the A9 Max, a compact office at the price of $ 1,199 but currently available for $ 999.
The PC combines the latest Ryzen AI 9 HX370 AMD processor with radeon 890m graphics, 32 GB of DDR5 memory, a PCIE Gen4 SSD of 2 TB and a charge of up to four 8K monitors.
The HX370, based on the Zen 5 architecture of AMD, is built on the 4NM finfet process of TSMC and has 12 cores and 24 threads, a maximum Boost clock of 5.1 GHz and 24 MB of L3 cache, with a configurable TDP from up to 54 W.
A lot of ports
It incorporates a dedicated AI engine capable of 80 peaks, which makes the A9 Max well suited to the acceleration of AI on the device in workflows such as content creation and professional applications which benefit from a local processing power.
The integrated GPU Radeon 890m is based on DNA 3.5 and offers performance generally beyond what most mini PCs have provided in the past.
It is delivered with 32 GB of DDR5 double channel (expandable up to 128 GB) and a PCIe PCIE SSD of 2 TB. Two PCIE 4.0 locations allow storage expansion up to 8 TB.
As you can imagine with a modern mini PC, the A9 Max offers a good selection of ports. On the front panel, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, three 3.2 Gen 2 USB ports type A and a type 2 USB 3.2 Gen type type which remains supplied even when the system is off.
The rear panel includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB4-C-C ports with DisplayPort Alt-Mode and power delivery, another type 2 type 2 USB 3.2 type and a USB 2.0-type.
It also includes Ethernet RJ45 ports from 2.5 Gbit / s, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as an SD card reader and a Kensington lock.
The chassis is built from metal, keeping the small shape factor while maintaining sustainability. Geekom says he can bear up to 200 kg of pressure without bending.
The Iceblast 2.0 cooling system with a large thermal copper dissipator, double heat pipes and a high performance fan should keep things cool even when under load or during prolonged use.
