Ukrainian drone attacks arouse fires on the Kursk nuclear power plant in Russia, NOVATEK UST-Luga terminal

Ukrainian drones attack Russia’s power and energy facilities overnight have forced the reduction in Kursk nuclear power plant to reduce a fuel export terminal in UST-Luga, Russian officials announced.

A drone attack on the Kursk nuclear power plant, not far from the border with Ukraine, damaged an auxiliary transformer and led to a 50% reduction in operating capacity to the three factory, said the factory’s press service.

There was no injury and a fire triggered by the attack was quickly extinguished, said the factory’s press service. The radiation levels on the site and in the surrounding area have not exceeded normal limits, he added.

About 10 Ukrainian drones were slaughtered on the port of UST -Luga in the northern region of Leningrad in Russia, with debris causing fire to the Novatek operated terminal – a huge fuel export terminal from the Baltic Sea and a processing complex, the regional governor said.

Rosaviatssia, Civil Russia Aviation Authority, said the flights were interrupted for hours in several Russian airports overnight, especially at Pulkovo airport in the Leningrad region.

Ukrainian drones have also attacked an industrial company in the Southern Russian city of Syzran, Vyacheslav Fedurishchev, governor of the Samara region where Syzran is located, published on Telegram, adding that there were no victim.

He did not say what were the targets or if there were damage.

Earlier this month, the Ukrainian army said it had hit the Syzran oil refinery. The refinery belonging to Rosneft was forced to suspend production and the gross contribution after the attack, sources told Reuters.

There was no immediate comments from Ukraine. kyiv said his strikes in Russia are in response to Russia’s continuous attacks on Ukraine and aim to destroy the infrastructures deemed to be crucial for Moscow’s overall military efforts.
