The winner of a Grammy Laufey pours the secret of the awards

Grammy Laufey star talks about being more than a jazz musician

Laufey just insisted that she was more than a jazz icon.

The awarded singer at the Grammy Award, who released her third album, Match of Time, and is often described as “Gen Z Jazz Icon”, prefers not to remain confined to a genre.

She said Vogue.co.uk: “My music is a derivative of jazz. I am a jazz singer and I like jazz music, but I wouldn’t say that I am the face of current jazz.”

“My music is a meli -melo of jazz and classic and bossanova and pop. I don’t know what it is. I don’t like to put myself in a box, even if it’s a jazz box. And there are so many incredible artists – like Samara Joy – who are really incredible and that really mean the thing”, The Thing From the start added to Hitmaker.

In addition, Laufey said that she had never “believed in me more than me” and is proud that she creates art faithful to herself.

“Everyone tells you when I was a child, the things that make you weird are the things that will bring out you,” she said, adding: “It’s so cool to see how I stayed with my arms and I created a career.”

“I never believed in me more than me, which is a very nice place to be when you work on your art”, the Love Talent indicated.

Laufey worked on his album in the famous Electric Lady Studios of the late Jimi Hendrix in New York, and that turned out to be critical in shaping his work.

“It almost changed the course of my album when I worked there,” she said before concluding, “the music I was doing was so honest at my artistic talent at a time when I really wondered where to sail on the ship.”
