Laufey just insisted that she was more than a jazz icon.
The awarded singer at the Grammy Award, who released her third album, Match of Time, and is often described as “Gen Z Jazz Icon”, prefers not to remain confined to a genre.
She said Vogue.co.uk: “My music is a derivative of jazz. I am a jazz singer and I like jazz music, but I wouldn’t say that I am the face of current jazz.”

In addition, Laufey said that she had never “believed in me more than me” and is proud that she creates art faithful to herself.

Laufey worked on his album in the famous Electric Lady Studios of the late Jimi Hendrix in New York, and that turned out to be critical in shaping his work.
