China salutes Pak’s army as “friendship of friendship”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi had praised the Pakistani army as “a pillar of national stability and” a “strong guardian of Chinese-Pakistani friendship and cooperation” during his recent visit to Pakistan.

This recognition followed a high -level meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi and the Marshal Munnir in Islamabad on August 21. The ministry said in a statement that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang said that the Pakistani army had always strongly supported the implementation of significant consensus reached between leaders of the two countries.

The meeting took place during the three -day official visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan. During the visit, Wang also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The visit came in the context of a multitude of regional and international developments.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang told the Pakistani party that the strengthening of bilateral relations at a time of global uncertainty was very beneficial for regional peace and stability, stressing that China had always granted absolute priority to Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that despite the difficult circumstances, the link between China and Pakistan was stronger. He added that the two countries had established a lasting tradition of close friendship, continued the declaration.

China would continue to support Pakistan full support in the safeguarding of its regional integrity and its national security, Wang said. He welcomed the major role of Pakistan in world affairs.

Marshal Munnir said that China has remained Pakistan’s “iron brother”, and that the two countries have always stood for each other in times of joy and adversity, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The Chinese-Pakistani strategic partnership is as strong as a rock,” he said, “adding that the maintenance of friendly links with China was a unanimous position of the whole Pakistani nation. It expressed its gratitude to the management of China for its precious contributions to the economic and social progress of Pakistan.

The Pakistani army is ready to actively promote cooperation against terrorism and security, said Marshal Asim Munnir. He assured that all necessary measures would continue to protect Chinese staff, projects and institutions in Pakistan. He said measures will be taken to further strengthen friendship in China-Pakistan and continue to progress on the development path.
