There have been a lot of contradictory reports on the question of whether Apple was going to launch the AirPods Pro 3 this year, but one of the most reliable journalists on the Beat Apple says that wireless headphones arrive before the end of 2025.
This journalist is Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who says that AirPod Pro 3 will also be delivered with significant upgrade: integrated monitoring of heart rate. The same technology has already been integrated into the PowerBeats Pro 2 which was launched in February.
With the PowerBeats Pro 2, LED optical sensors are more than 100 times per second, measuring heart rate via blood flow. Presumably, the AirPods Pro 3 will operate in a similar way and make statistics to the Apple Health application.
Gurman also reiterates his previous assertion that Apple works on a Paye Health + subscription option for users, who may include the services of a fitness coach in AI. The idea is that you will get personalized advice on diet, exercise and more.
Three years later
We have been waiting for the AirPods Pro 3 for a long time, since the Apple AirPods Pro 2 made its debut in September 2022. The wireless headphones market changed a lot at that time – and we have since had the Apple AirPods 4, of course.
Most of the leaks and rumors that we have heard around these headphones are concerned when they are really born. There were clues in iOS 26 that the AirPods Pro 3 would arrive in 2025, although a reliable source suggested a launch in 2026.
It seems clear that Apple wants to monitor health is a main objective of the AirPods Pro 3, in addition to obtaining high quality audio in your ears, and we can see the wireless headphones capable of following other vital statistics in addition to your heart rate.
Wireless headphones are one of the many “pipeline” devices for Apple “this fall”, which is generally September, October and November. We are also waiting for the iPhone 17 and the Apple Watch 11 next month.
