Afghan Wives Petition IHC against deportation

Islamabad:

Three Afghan women married to Pakistani citizens asked the High Court of Islamabad (IHC) to prevent their expulsion and seek a permanent residence in Pakistan.

Judge Inam Amin Minhas took the petitions but subsequently returned the case to the chief judge, noting that a similar case was already pending before the court of the chief judge.

During the hearing, Barrister Umar Ijaz Gilani, lawyer for the petitioners, argued that foreign women who marry Pakistani nationals had the right to citizenship rights.
