Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may announce their commitment on Tuesday afternoon, but the father of the Kansas City chiefs’ star overturned the beans when his son proposed.
Ed Kelce told a local TV station in Cleveland that the triple Super Bowl champion had offered about two weeks ago. The photos published on the Instagram account of Swift showed the tight end on a knee, surrounded by flowers in a garden.

“Travis made the proposal, Oh, perhaps two weeks, there are not quite two weeks ago,” Ed Kelce told News 5 Cleveland on Tuesday. “He was going to repel her until this week. I think she may become a little reckless, but he was going to push her back to this week, you know, to do something great, to make it a great special event.
“And I told him several times, you know, you can do it on the side of the road, make any place that makes it a special event … when you knee and ask him to marry.”

“He brought it out, they were about to get out of dinner, and said,” Let’s go out and take a glass of wine. “… They went out there, and that’s where he asked him, and it was beautiful,” he added. “They started to face me and their mother and his parents to make sure everyone knew it. So seeing them together is great.”
Ed Kelce said he was in the practice of the Philadelphia Eagles when he received the call. The radiant father could not have been happier for his son and soon the daughter-in-law.
Kelce and Swift’s relationship had been a focal point of the NFL season since she presented herself at the Arrowhead stadium to support the chiefs tight against the Bears in Chicago. Since then, Swift has regularly attended the games in Kansas City and was there two years ago to watch the chiefs go to the Super Bowl.

She is likely to be back in Arrowhead this season while the chiefs are looking to return to the big match.
