In 2001, Mo Lewis delivered a tackle that changed the history of the NFL.
Lewis, who spent his whole professional career with the New York Jets, addressed the New England Patriots, while the quarter-Arrière Drew Bledsoe. The Hit forced Bledsoe to leave the game, giving Tom Brady the opportunity to play. Brady took advantage of luck and Bledsoe never recovered the starting work.
While Lewis seemed to receive the share of the blame lion for having triggered the two decades of unprecedented success that Brady produced with the New England Patriots, the retirement argued that the fault should actually be attributed to Bledsoe.

In the longtime book of the NFL journalist, Gary Myers, “Brady against Belichick”, Lewis underlined Bledsoe’s decision to rush on the room.
“”[Bledsoe] Have you just signed an agreement of $ 100 million to be a quarter type? A quarter-cross, isn’t it? Had he had not come out of the pocket and run with the ball, would we talk about it? Who caused the event? The person who was with the ball, “noted Lewis.
“Now, he does what he has not registered. He signed up to be a quarter-Arrière who passes. What should I do? I stop people with the ball. It’s just another room for me. But it’s a different game for him.”

Lewis hunted while Bledsoe rushes to try to win enough meters for a first try. The blow on Bledsoe was deemed legal, but many observers probably remembered the tackle due to its intensity.
Lewis moved away from football after the 2003 season, and he largely avoided media or public events affiliated with jets in the years that followed.

Lewis’ decision to live far from the spotlight was centered on his frustration of remembering the tackle of Bledsoe instead of his global career achievements, ESPN reported, citing Lewis teammates.
Lewis won the honors of the first All-Pro team in 1998 and was selected in three Pro Bowls.

Lewis suggested that he was not personally affected by the fallbacks of the infamous game.
“It’s really out of words for me,” he said. “It was just another room for me. For all of you, it’s a big game that changes the game and changing the story. I have never returned to watch the game. If people want to talk about it, I don’t hide it. But it doesn’t matter for me.”
Brady won six Super Bowl titles with the Patriots. He left the franchise after the 2019 season and won his seventh championship with the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay.
