- A rumor claims that the steam bridge 2 may not be there before 2028
- However, it looks like temporary speculation for several reasons
- It is quite possible that we are for a long wait for the suite of steam bridge, however
The Steam Deck 2 may not arrive before 2028, where it is the last theory that takes place from the rumor mill concerning the rest of the Valve pocket computer.
Kitguru noticed that Kepler again dropped another rumor via the Neogaf forums (there were some nuggets linked to equipment this week), and it is a very short revelation and not so sweet that: “Steam Deck 2 is 2028”.
The comment came in an article which actually concerns the Asus Rog Xbox Ally, when someone commented on the purchase of one of these – the cell phone arrives in October – weighed against the prospect of Valve which does something better in the near future (ISH).
Kepler quickly paid for the idea that the Steam 2 bridge could even be from a distance on the horizon. If the leak is right, we will wait three years for the next gaming gaming of Valve – with it arriving six years after the start of the original steam game – but it is, of course, if As I will discuss afterwards.
Analysis: Speculation taken from AMD, no valve?
Obviously, it is only rumor, and its nature – a single disposable line in a forum post – should give more than a brief break to think.
As Kitguru points out, Kepler probably did not support a valve contact for this information – although we do not know that with certainty, this seems likely to be the case. Indeed, Kepler deals mainly with GPU rumors (or CPU) and therefore the probability is that they base this on information from an AMD roadmap – which concerns the expected chip to use as an engine of the following steam bridge.
So, this makes this speculation feels a smaller smaller, but that said, Kepler turned out to be one of the most reliable leaks for GPU information – so I would not reject this control nugget.
According to rumors, Valve will work on a steamer DECK 2 – which is hardly a surprise – but apparently, the development route could be long. In 2023, a year after the launch of the steam game, the wait was a new generation version of the valve pocket computer would not happen for a few years from that moment – which means that people hoped for 2026, not 2028.
If this rumor is true, what it also indicates, is that Valve plans to make steam deck 2 a huge uprising with performance, with a much more robust sock – the equipment available in 2028 will be much more robust, of course. And that aligns with the previous chatter suggesting that the company does not want an incremental release with the suite of The Steam Deck, but a big step forward.
That said, I would emphasize that we should be very careful about this speculation for the moment.
