Karachi:
A man was arrested for allegedly raped his 18 -year -old niece after having drugged her and six other family members, including children, using a sedative drink during a family meeting on Friday evening.
According to police, the incident took place after the suspect, identified as Amir Shaikh, visited his sister’s house and offered family drinks and candies, which made them unconscious. Family members were transferred to the district headquarters, where doctors confirmed that Sakina, 18, had been sexually assaulted when she was unconscious.
The mother’s mother filed a complaint, accusing her brother Amir of having committed the crime. The FIR declares thatmon tried to present himself as an aid once the family has regained consciousness.
The police arrested the accused, who confessed during the interrogation. The authorities also investigated the source of the sedative used. Sources indicate that the accused was married four months ago, but his wife left him shortly after due to marital disputes.
