Sutlej roared the levels of 1988, leaving the knee of southern Punjab in difficulty

The flooding crisis in southern Punjab intensified on Friday as with the Rivers Chenab and was able to take the embankments and submerge dozens of villages. This flood spell made at least 68 lives in the province according to the province of disaster management (PDMA) and injured left scores.

The water from the Chenab river swallowed up large parts of Sher Shah in Multan. Flood waves up to 12 to 14 feet have won dozens of colonies. Boats were summoned to evacuate the stranded families, who had rushed over their roofs to escape the flood.

The displaced residents of Basti Khoor flooded installed a camp along the backfill of the Sikandari Canal, where many families live in the open air. According to the PDMA, nearly 4,000 Mouzas (pieces of earth) were affected through Punjab, leaving nearly 3.9 million people affected. Among these, 1.8 million people are evacuae. Rescue agencies have established up to 416 rescue camps, 356 medical camps and 318 veterinary camps. Over 1.3 million livestocks was also moved to safer land.

The water levels also remained high in Kot Mithan and Rojhan in the Rajanpur district. In the first, the water level was recorded at 490,000 brackets. According to PDMA data, since mid-June, at least 183 people have died, 646 injured and 237 houses were destroyed in monsoon rains and floods through Punjab. Up to 121 cattle has perished. District data shows heavy losses in Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh and Vehari.
