Pakistan observes the defense and martyrs day today (September 6) with ceremonies and tributes nationwide, while the president and the Prime Minister reaffirm their support for the armed forces and express their solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine.
The day began with a salvation of 31 weapons in Islamabad and greetings of 21 cannons in provincial capitals.
Special prayers have been offered in mosques for the progress and prosperity of the nation, as well as for the freedom of the Indians occupied by Jammu-et-Cachemire (Iijok).
The day commemorates the war of 1965, fought between Pakistan and India, after having increased tensions on cashmere, when India launched an attack through the international border near Lahore.
The President and the Prime Minister described on September 6 as a symbol of courage, unity and resilience. Tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers and citizens, they declared that the spirit of the war of 1965 continues to guide future generations.
The leaders congratulated the courage and professionalism of the armed forces in operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Marqa-E-Haq against India, under the command of the chief of staff of the Asim Murnir army.
President Zardari praised the multi-domain capacities of the armed forces on land, the tunes and the sea, declaring the defense of the country “breathtaking”.
The president urged unity and resilience because he said: “The September spirit resonates forever in the bravery of our armed forces and the resilience of our nation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and constructive international commitment, but warned against “continuous Indian provocations and the modification of regional dynamics”. He said that the country would continue to strengthen its defenses while fighting terrorism sponsored by foreigners and the war by proxy.

The press release also noted that the armed forces had always held with the nation during the external aggression, terrorism and natural disasters. “The armed forces will extend any support to the victims of undergoing floods across Pakistan and will celebrate defense day and martyrs with the greatest humility.”
“Today, we reaffirm our commitment to maintain the sacred responsibility entrusted to us by the nation. The Pakistani armed forces are still vigilant and have prepared to defend the country against all kinds of threats. Any attempt to disrupt our harshly won peace will be greeted by a response and resistance to the conference and resistance to Allah.
