The bridgestone tire manufacturing giant has undergone a cyber attack that has had an impact on manufacturing in several places.
The American media said that cybersecurity incidents affecting two production facilities in South Carolina, while the Canadian local press reported the same for an installation in Quebec.
The media currently say that the attack has probably been identified and stopped early – before the attackers managed to steal significant data or cause more harm.

“Our team responded quickly to contain the problem in accordance with our established protocols.”
“Although our forensic analysis is underway, we remain convinced that we were able to contain this limited cyber-incident,” added the company. “We do not think that customer data or interfaces have been compromised.”
So far, no threat actor has claimed the responsibility of the attack. However, a group has been particularly active in the past two weeks, while the dispersed lapsus hunters have claimed the recent attack on Jaguar Land Rover.
This group was formed when three groups merged – scattered Spider, Lapsus $ and Shinyhuters, and said it was behind recent attacks against Jaguar Land Rover, M&S, Salesforce and many others.
He also claims that in previous incidents, he was able to steal sensitive data and are currently trying to extort his victims for money – even if these complaints have not yet been confirmed.
Bridgestone is a manufacturer of Japanese multinational tires and the largest in the world in production volume.
